GOOD DESIGN. EASY LIVING.
This blog is going to dive into the joys of motherhood and anything design! Whatever the day’s activities bring, whether it’s a custom rug project of my own, a pretty plate at lunch or an inspiration for a client’s next project…I shall keep you posted!
As a stay-at-home-mom and designer I spend a lot of time thinking, creating and designing. While entertaining my two-year old, reciting images from the same book for the fifth time…my mind wanders onto my next great idea. My head is full of them. I decided to start a blog so I can get them out and maybe it won’t keep me up all night and I can actually get some much needed rest.
So many times I get caught up in the latest project in my mind and jump from one to the next, as I know many moms do. Your unwritten list that hovers over you: get groceries, remember to pick up prescriptions, we are out of laundry soap, oh yeah the dryer needs fluffed now that I forget to unload it because I had to look for the missing stuffed zebra, get supper started….oh no, it’s almost time for daddy to come home, we better come up with a meal fast! What a great illustration of a pretty typical for me, all day, every day. This is also just one side of my life, the mommy side, now onto the design world. I love to design for myself, but even more for my clients. I love helping my clients create the perfect space and make their home their own. I am moved by so many styles of décor and can find inspiration from some pretty unlikely things, but in the end I hope for the perfect look and reflection of each and every one of my clients. What a great reward it is to hear your client say “I love it!” or “this should be in a magazine!” If I could make everyone fall in love with their homes I would. We spend most of our time, energy and money in our home, a prized possession. How great it is to do what I do. Not only was this career an obvious choice for me, based on my creativity and having an outlet for that, but it is something that would allow me to enjoy the other love of my life: being a mom and a wife. I’ve got the best of both worlds and I get to do it all from the home that I love!
